Position Overview:

This internship in Human Resources is designed to provide opportunities to a diverse mix of students who demonstrate the same high level of ethics, values, creativity, and performance we expect from our employees. During the 12 to 14 week paid internship, students will work on projects that have a measurable impact on our business and will be coached and mentored by Eaton leaders.

Eaton’s HR Internship Program offers participants fast-paced, real world, hands-on experience leading HR projects. Participants gain practical generalist experience as well as develop leadership competencies through training, networking, and coaching.

During the internship, the program offers exciting HR generalist opportunities at one of our manufacturing plants where he or she will be working side-by-side for the purpose or receiving guidance and mentoring to expand their HR competencies.

After completion of the internship, and upon graduation, your experience and newly acquired skills could lead to a variety of career paths, such as full time employment in Eaton’s HR Leadership Development Program.

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements):

  • Actively enrolled in a Master’s or MBA degree program with a focus in Human Resources and/or Industrial & Labor Relations from an accredited institution, with a graduation date between December 2018 and August 2019
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship

  • Geographical flexibility to relocate within the United States for the duration of the Internship Program

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant work experience and/or HR internship experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community

  • A desire to build a career in human resources
  • Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills

 

Position Criteria:

  • This role may include travel (up to 25%) within a local region as determined (title of person authorizing travel).
  • Transportation to and from the worksite and for incidental business travel is the responsibility of the intern; however, expenses for required and approved business travel (not including the worksite) will be reimbursed.
  • The summer internship culminates with a formal presentation where students showcase their success stories to leaders of the organization and receive feedback on their performance.
