Cloud Architecture

FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE:
 Manages component work for specific Information Technology (IT) that forms the foundation of the enterprise-wide Cloud Architecture. Develops cloud native design patterns that provide scalable, performant, highly resilient yet cost-effective technology solutions. Develops cloud-based architectures to meet the requirements of new and existing applications and services.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, sufficient to develop and present management briefings; provide written and/or verbal guidance on technical issues; and prepare/present recommendations and reports.
  2. Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and evaluate existing and proposed business systems and procedures, develop requirements and identify system solutions in detailed measurable terms that achieve optimum performance and cost effectiveness.
  3. Knowledge of industry developments, business information systems and practices, development methods, procedures, standards, techniques, Agile application life cycle, test driven development, continuous integration of code development, and current cloud technologies.
  4. Experience leading the design, development and deployment of performant cloud business software at scale or current hands-on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experience.
  5. Expert knowledge of cloud services from one or more of the primary Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) (i.e., Amazon, Microsoft or Google).
  6. Ability to integrate cloud services with on premise technologies from Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, Linux, SAP, etc.
  7. Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements in a regulated environment such as SOX and PCI.
  8. Ability to automate complex tasks using scripting or coding skills, or similar current automation tools (e.g., shell, Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef, or Puppet).
  9. Knowledge of information systems enterprise-wide architecture including knowledge of a wide range of foundational technology such as cloud services, servers and storage, virtualization, high availability, performance analysis and management, and enterprise infrastructure monitoring for highly available web-scale systems.
