Distribution Planning Branch | Grid Planning, Energy Storage and Non-Wires Alternatives Section

Would you like to contribute to achieving the State of California’s ambitious clean energy and climate goals? The CPUC's Grid Planning, Energy Storage and Non-Wires Alternatives team is working to plan strategies to transform and modernize the distribution grid to achieve California’s greenhouse gas reduction goals while maintaining safe and reliable service and increasing the role of distributed energy resources (DERs) to provide ratepayer benefit. The section provides technical expertise and implementation oversight of policies and programs related to distribution resource planning, procurement and policy for energy storage, smart grid, and grid modernization. A successful candidate will lead in implementing critical statewide programs in energy storage policy and procurement, distribution grid planning and targeted DER procurement. This section values superior quantitative analytic abilities, strong communication skills and seeks individuals that perform well in collaborative team environments. If clean energy or environmental sustainability is your passion, we encourage you to apply for our positions.
