CASCADES Support Specialists (HSC2) – DOH6488
The Department of Health (DOH) mission is to work with others to protect and improve the health of all people in Washington State. The Office of Nutrition Services (ONS) plays a key role by creating opportunities for people to make healthy choices for their families. The ONS works with local partners to support families to choose healthy foods, breastfeed, access health foods and be active. The ONS and our local partners use the Cascades system for data collection, participating eligibility assessment and benefit issuance.
These Health Services Consultant 2 positions perform essential tasks that support the organization’s mission by providing professional technical consultation and training for state and local staff and retailers to provide Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) nutrition services to low-income families and assuring federal and state WIC requirements are met. Essential tasks include providing technical consultation, software training, and system training for CASCADES system and APPS and CASCADES system administration functions for the Cascades application.
This recruitment will be used to fill two (2) full-time, permanent Health Services Consultant 2 positions located within the Division of Prevention and Community Health, in the Office of Nutrition Services.
The duty station for this position is Tumwater, WA. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, telework (mobile-work) is currently expected. An alternative work schedule may be considered upon request and supervisor approval. Telework -once returned to the duty station for work activities, may be considered upon request with supervisory approval.
