Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Qualified students must have a Work Study award. Only students with a FWS or PWP will be considered for this position.
This position falls under Pepperdine's Federal Work Study Community Service agreement with the Boys and Girls Club. The job will take place with the Boys and Girls Club at their site in Malibu. The supervisor of work will be a Boys and Girls Club staff personal. Since this position utilizes the student's Work Study award, the student will be hired through Pepperdine's hire module and payment will be received from Pepperdine.
Must provide your own transportation to and from the Boys and Girls Club of Malibu.
As an administrative assistant, this individual will support the needs of the Directors and therapists working in the office having to do with clerical work. This includes, but is not limited to, answering phone calls, welcoming clients, taking messages, checking inventory of office and art supplies, placing orders online, and other additional tasks, as needed. An interest in learning about mental health and the professionals is highly desired.
Who we Are:
We are a local mental health and social support agency serving primarily clients that live and work in the Malibu & Santa Monica areas. This includes all children attending SMMUSD schools, people that commute into the area for work, and seniors. Our social support services focus on food security, housing referrals, legal support, language and educational tutoring, county services referrals, and other family-focused services. We are an entity within the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu and also provide social-emotional learning lessons to Club members and to the local schools.

Classification: Pepperdine Work study
Schedule: 10-15 hours per week, between 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday
Bilingual (Spanish & English), preferred but not required. Intermediate to advance Spanish-speakers encouraged to apply
Undergraduate studying in Psychology or Sociology, preferred but not required.

Ability to work collaboratively with individuals, community, and professionals
Knowledge of Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google products
