Job Title: Teen Program/ Elementary Assistant and Tutor

Qualified students must have a Work Study award. Only students with a FWS or PWP will be considered for this position. This position is off campus.

This position falls under Pepperdine's Federal Work Study Community Service agreement with the Boys and Girls Club. The job will take place with the Boys and Girls Club at one of their sites in Malibu. The supervisor of work will be a Boys and Girls Club staff personal. Since this position utilizes the student's Work Study award, the student will be hired through Pepperdine's hire module and payment will be received from Pepperdine.
Must provide your own transportation to and from the Boys and Girls Club of Malibu.

Job Description:
A Teen and Elementary Program Assistant and Tutor should be enthusiastic about making a difference in the lives of Malibu kids grades from kindergarten to twelfth grade. We are located in two elementary schools in Malibu, Webster and Malibu Elementary and in a Middle and high school in Malibu High School. We are seeking a team player who is energetic, fun-loving, active, and has a positive attitude. We are always looking for new and exciting ways to engage our teens and elementary, from arts and crafts to outdoor activities to performance art, and more; whatever your passion may be, we want you to share it with our teens.

Potential Teen Program Assistant and Tutor will work with teens in the Games Room, Chill Room, Outdoors, Skate Ramp, Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball games and in the Learning Center assisting with homework, school projects and developing study skills. We are seeking someone who works well with others, is patient, and is dedicated to student success. Creates and maintains a positive and playful culture with staff, children, and families. Greets children and parents when they arrive. Promotes a positive image of the organization and plays a major role in ensuring the afterschool program is in good standards. Demonstrates effective problem -solving methods. Ensures a safe, educational, and caring environment for the children, parents , and staff. Must be energetic and be able to work both indoors and outdoors

Gain experience working in the non-profit field with an integral Malibu community organization. Opportunities to engage in community events, field trips, fundraisers, and or Boys & Girls Club Malibu Chili Cook Off and Private Concerts abound. We are flexible and will work with you to accommodate your scheduling needs. Experience working with teens and elementary kids is a plus, but not required.

Note: As the Boys & Girls Club operate on SMMUSD Facilities, from October 1st they will require proof of full vaccination status for all onsite interns and employees.
