Web Developer
The Shoulders of Giants is looking for a talented web developer to help finalize connectivity within several platforms (mainly Discord, Salesforce, SQL, DonorPerfect) and develop the framework for student teams to manage science/engineering projects (via the Media Wiki framework).
Web Developer Work Description:
- Help with back and front end programming on our website - built on the Media Wiki framework. Languages to be familiar with are Python (especially Flask), JavaScript, and PHP
- Integrate data from various back-end services and databases - (Donor Perfect, Salesforce etc.)
- Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
- Help to create and maintain software documentation
- Advise on maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site
- Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
- Cooperate with other web devs on a team
The ideal candidate has:
- Experience in web programming
- Familiarity with the following programming languages: PHP, Flask, Javascript, SQL
- A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
- Adequate knowledge of relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming and web application development
- Hands-on experience with network diagnostics, network analytics tools
- Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills
- BS in computer science or a related field
