Sales Assistant
General Purpose of the Position:
Under general supervision, assist and support the Sales team with clerical and administrative work of moderate to average difficulty in the daily functions of the Sales Office and other areas of the company as directed. Track, investigate, and report sales information; in preparation for advancement into a Sales Representative role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- File documents and reports.
- Shreds documents and other papers as directed.
- Performs data entry for extended periods of time.
- Copy and fax documents.
- Answer and appropriately route phone calls, using tact and diplomacy.
- Update sales board.
- Prepare reports for management review.
- Function as a phone liaison between the San Bernardino Sales Office and the Mexico offices.
- Function as liaison between sales, field supervisors and warehouse.
- Establish and maintain positive customer relations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of:
- Basic knowledge of office procedures, including copying, faxing, alphabetic and numerical filing and data entry.
- Appropriate telephone, office and online etiquette.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills and Abilities to:
- Perform office work in a timely and accurate manner.
- Efficiently organize and complete a variety of tasks.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within and outside of the department.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Provide prompt, efficient and responsive service.
- Ability to learn and effectively use software packages.
