Spring Internship - Marketing

Departmental Overview: The Marketing Department manages the marketing and promotional needs of key internal clients to ensure that best-of-class marketing practices are applied and institution branding standards are met to support the many goals and objects of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Internship Overview:The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum offers unpaid internships that advance the educational goals of the student as well as the Museum’s mission. Internships are designed for a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week for a minimum of 12 weeks with consideration given to individual university requirements. Additional adjustments to the 12 week, 20 hour schedule will be at the discretion of the internship supervisor. Educational programs which operate on a quarterly basis will be accommodated. Motivated students who are seeking hands-on experiences in a team-oriented environment will find excellent opportunities at the Museum.

The Marketing intern should be able to work independently and should possess good organizational, computer, and written and oral communications skills. Experience with Microsoft Office and social media is required. The internship offers a creative, energetic environment in which a student is exposed to the areas of advertising development, promotions, media relations/purchasing, and other forms of marketing.

Specific Internship Duties:
  • Assist on-site and off-site museum events
  • Support the Hall of Fame Street Team
  • Research current marketing, public relations, and digital trends
  • Write and editing copy
  • Update online calendars with upcoming program information
  • Brainstorm potential marketing partnerships with other organizations
  • Write and implementing surveys
  • Execute data capture and data entry
  • Organize digital images for marketing purposes
  • Fulfill regional radio trade agreements
  • Assist in creating social media plans/schedules
  • Manage web content and update as needed
  • Participate in Marketing Department meetings
  • Execute and fulfill digital marketing promotions with various community/industry partners
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
  • College degree or college courses in a related field
Essential Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and abilities needed for success in the position):
  • Ability to multi task and problem solve
  • Ability to work independently and should possess good organizational, computer, and written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and social media is required
Conditions of Internship:
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including minimal weekends and evenings
  • Must pass a background check
  • Lift 25 lbs or less
