Corporate Strategy (Focused on Canada) Intern

THE INTERNSHIP - Corporate Strategy (Focused on Canada) - Washington DC

The internship will require a high level of both quantitative and qualitative analysis and activities. Each intern will be responsible for leading an individual project which will be presented to the Executive team at the end of the summer and will receive mentorship from a business unit leader.

We’re looking for interns who can think creatively and analytically, embrace ambiguity and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and have a solution-focused mindset driven by making an impact.


THE ROLE
  • Assisting with MPOWER’s entry into the Canadian international education financing market
  • Driving the development of MPOWER’s Canadian business by monitoring growth and developing relationships with marketing partners
  • Conducting industry benchmarking versus peers and financial planning and analysis of new and existing products
  • Engaging with strategic partners and drive product features that are applicable to Canada
  • Conducting business reporting and competitive analysis activities using data analytic skills
  • Driving corporate development projects that pertain to MPOWER’s Canadian operations, including product enhancements and growth strategy
  • Work with the Chief Executive Officer, VP of Marketing, and Corporate Strategy Manager
 

THE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently pursuing master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Previous internship or full-time professional experience
  • Superior written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Well-organized, detail oriented, and ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to move between strategic thinking and details

A passion for financial inclusion and access to higher education is a must!

In addition, you should be comfortable working in a start-up environment, meaning a small agile team, fast-evolving roles and responsibilities, variable workload and tight deadlines, a high degree of autonomy, and 80-20 everything.
