Private Equity Analyst Internship

At K Squared, you will have an opportunity to make an impact in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You will become an expert on the fund’s investment strategy and be exposed to live deals and transactions. We are looking for motivated and bright people with an interest in private equity and working in a startup environment. We employ techniques used in traditional private equity as well as startups, such as lean, agile, and growth marketing. Our internships include a level of training and experience that cannot be found elsewhere. Our Processes, Knowledgebase, Training Videos are designed to simplify our analyses and facilitate your transition to the team. At present, our internships are unpaid. There will be full-time opportunities with the fund or portfolio companies. We are prepared to provide letters of recommendation and introductions to our networks. 
This position presents a unique opportunity for highly-motivated individuals interested in a fast-paced, startup-like environment, or pursuing a transition into finance. In this role, you will gain valuable experience by sourcing investment opportunities, screening investment opportunities, developing financial models and creating valuations. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify investment opportunities through research and outreach
  • Screen investment opportunities and evaluate fit with our investment criteria
  • Assist in due diligence which will likely include financial modeling, valuations and drafting deal memos
  • Contribute to marketing research, marketing, and origination as needed
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR...
  • Experience financial modeling including discounted cash flows analysis, transaction value analysis, comparable company analysis
  • Access and experience to some or all of the following data sources (IBIS, CapitalIQ, Pitch Book, PrivCo, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical, research, organizational, written and oral communication skills
  • Commit a minimum of 15 hours per week during the school year
  • Previous investment banking or private equity experience preferred but not required
