About the Role

CrunchTutor.com is seeking an experienced tutor/mentor to support a high school student enrolled in a course combining PLTW Digital Electronics/Engineering and Computer Science Principles.

The ideal tutor has direct familiarity with the Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Engineering/Digital Electronics curriculum and/or the College Board AP Computer Science Principles (AP CSP) framework, and is comfortable helping students with both programming and digital circuit design.

The student's coursework includes computer science, engineering problem-solving, digital circuits, combinational and sequential logic, and industry-related circuit design tools.

Topics May Include

• Digital electronics and circuit design
• Combinational and sequential logic
• Logic gates and Boolean logic
• Integrated circuits and programmable logic devices
• Circuit analysis and troubleshooting
• NI Multisim and/or Tinkercad Circuits
• Python programming
• Algorithms and computational problem-solving
• Data and basic computer science concepts
• AP CSP concepts and assignments
• Engineering design and problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Conduct live one-on-one online tutoring sessions
• Guide the student through circuit simulation using NI Multisim, Tinkercad Circuits, or similar tools
• Provide hands-on support with Python programming
• Explain digital logic, circuits, and engineering concepts clearly
• Support PLTW Digital Electronics assignments and projects
• Help with AP CSP concepts, programming assignments, and exam preparation where applicable
• Troubleshoot coding and circuit-design problems
• Help the student develop independent problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
• Strong understanding of digital electronics and programming
• Comfortable with Python
• Experience with NI Multisim, Tinkercad Circuits, or similar circuit-simulation software
• Direct PLTW Engineering/Digital Electronics experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with the College Board AP Computer Science Principles (AP CSP) framework strongly preferred
• Tutoring, teaching, TA, mentoring, or relevant project experience preferred
• Strong communication and ability to explain technical concepts to high school students

Schedule

Approximately 2–5 hours per week, with flexible evening or weekend availability.
