Data Analyst Intern
{Carpe Data is seeking a Data Analyst Intern to join a talented and agile product development team. This role’s main focus will be to lead the creation of a new product in collaboration with other members of the technology team. The role requires creativity in product ideation and detail-orientedness in testing and iterations.
This position presents the opportunity to work in a critical role in a disruptive and fast-growing startup that just raised $6.6 million in Series A funding. There is no better time to join our growing team!
Candidate must be local to the Santa Barbara area, no telecommuting.
Key responsibilities
- Create regular expressions to better harness available web data
- Brainstorm new applications of our existing data
- Research new data sources to improve our existing product
- Suggest process improvements and internal tools to facilitate the product development life cycle
- Implement creative ad-hoc strategies to meet project/research demands
Desired Skills/Experience
- Interest in harnessing online web data
- Enthusiasm for technology and desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and patient
- Self-motivated to explore and undertake new projects
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree or coursework
- Experience utilizing regular expressions
Compensation
- $14/hr with room to grow after the internship is completed
- Working in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara on the 6th floor of the Balboa Building, in an office full of natural sunlight and gorgeous views of the surrounding scenery
